Frequently Asked Questions

Portrait Photography

Q: How do you deliver the photos?

A: Images will be sent through an online gallery where you (and your whole party) can download the digital copies of your photos, and print where ever your heart desires! You can also print directly from your online gallery and have photo paper, metal prints, or canvas prints mailed directly to you.

Q: When do we receive the photos?

A: Images will be delivered within 2 weeks. If it is the holidays, it may take up to 4 weeks due to volume of sessions. You can pay to rush the photos as well, price depends on time of year.

Q: Do you provide the raw images?

A: No. Only finished product images are provided to keep our images consistent and provide you the best quality photos!

Q: Is pricing negotiable?

A: The base remains the same (prices above), the add-ons can be custom created into a package that fits your budget.

Q: What is your editing style? Can we request something different?

A: You have chosen to do your session with me after seeing my sample work. I would describe my style as natural, fresh, bright, and lively. If you want moody tones and deep shadows, that is not my style of editing. Again, I do not provide the raws for you and only edit in my style.

Q: Do you require a deposit?

A: Yes, in order to reserve your sessions and block my calendar from anyone else being able to shoot within that time, I do require a $50 deposit. Your session is not confirmed until this is acquired.

Q: What forms of payment do you take?

A: I take cash or Paypal (which accepts bank account or credit card payment) at this time.

Q: When do we pay?

A: I will invoice you via Paypal for your $50 deposit to confirm the session. The day of the session I can take cash for the remaining amount or I will send an invoice via Paypal for the remaining amount. You save on the transaction fees when paying with cash.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad?

A: I will not cancel shoots due to wind. Maui is a tropical island with ocean breezes. Wind is HIGHLY likely, and a refund to your deposit will not be provided if there is wind. The weather apps will tell you there is 30% chance of rain pretty much every single day, there’s no need to worry about that. If it is 50% or higher, we’ll communicate and look at the options. I’ve learned to read the clouds pretty well in my 10 years on Maui. We can chance it and have an AMAZING sky as the background (especially at sunset), we can change locations to a sunnier spot, try to reschedule if the rain is holding, or cancel and a refund to your deposit will be given.

Q: Can we pick the location?

A: Maui County requires a permit to shoot on the beach. That is included in the price of your session. But some beaches do not allow commercial photography. Alternatively, some resorts require clearance for a photographer to come on property, so to do the session where you’re staying, we need to clear that with your accommodation in some cases.

Q: Where do you shoot?

A: My favorite locations to shoot are White Rock/Palauea Beach and Maluaka Beach on the South Side and Ironwoods/Oneloa Beach, Kapalua Bay, and Baby Beach on the West side. I am located in Central Maui so all session pricing includes beaches I can get a permit for and within South Maui. I have a travel fee of $50 if you would like to shoot in West Maui, $200 travel fee for Haleakala (2 hours of driving), and a Hana shoot will be a custom package depending on how much time we’ll be shooting vs driving.
